Army Paratrooper receives TOYM award

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila — Special Forces Paratrooper Cpt. Ron JR Villarosa was selected as an Honoree for Community Development in Military Service by The Outstanding Young Men (TOYM) and Junior Chamber International here on January 23, 2020.
Cpt. Villarosa helped in planning and implementing various livelihood, evacuation, education and infrastructure programs in conflict areas. With these sustainable efforts, extremists were prevented from returning to these communities and promoted peace-building activities.
Cpt. Villarosa is currently assigned at the Northern Luzon Command. Prior to his assignment, he also served as a Civil-Military Operations (CMO) Officer in the Special Forces Regiment and Joint Task Force Ranao in Mindanao.
TOYM awards is celebrating its 60th year in acknowledging the efforts of the country's active young citizens in nation-building. TOYM Awards is unique and only given to those who display outstanding leadership and excellence.
Cpt. Villarosa dedicated his award to the Philippine Army.
"This goes to all Filipino soldiers in pursuit of peace and development. Most especially, this goes as a testament to the commitment and professionalism of the men and women of the Special Forces Regiment. I'm truly honored to be part of this tribe," he said.#
