Army installs three new Chiefs

FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – The Philippine Army installs three new Chiefs for Office of the Army Chief of Staff for Logistics, G4; Office of the Army Chief of Staff for Financial Management, G10; and Office of the Secretary Army General Staff in a Joint Change of Chiefs of Office Ceremony here today, February 26, 2021.
The ceremony was presided by the Chief of Staff, Philippine Army Maj. Gen. Rowen S Tolentino. Tolentino led the traditional turnover of the command symbols from the outgoing Col. Rey Alemania to incoming Col. Prudencio Iddoba for the Office of the Army Chief of Staff for Logistics; Col. Pedro Balisi Jr. to Col. Ramon Antonio Bello for the Office of the Army Chief of Staff for Financial Management; and from Lt. Col. Von Albert Sumergido to the Col. Danilo Estrañero for the Office of the Secretary Army General Staff.
Prior to his assumption, Col. Iddoba served as Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces of the Philippines Munitions Control Center and Command Inspector General of Army Supply Command. He is also a member of Philippine Military Academy (PMA) ‘Maalab’ Class of 1993 and a graduate of Master in Public Management in Development Security from the Development Academy of the Philippines. He also graduated top of his class in Combined Logistics Officers Advance Course in 2003, and Ammo Management Course in 2002, and also underwent various logistics related courses.
On the other hand, Col. Bello is a member of PMA “Bantay-Laya” Class of 1994, and a graduate of Master in Defense Policy and Internal Security in Universidad De Complutense De Madrid in Spain. Prior to his position, he served as Chief of Budget Branch, Budget Division of the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and Executive Officer of the Office of the Army Financial Management.
Furthermore, Col. Estrañero is also member of PMA “Bantay-Laya” Class of 1994, He is also a graduate of Expert-Unarmed Combat Course in Australian Communications and Media Authority; Master in Science and Industrial Relations Management in De La Salle University; Professional Studies in Field of Peace and Conflict Resolution in Chulalongkorn University, Thailand; International Peace and Conflict Resolution in University of North Carolina; Masters in International Development Policy in Duke University, USA. He served as the Chief of Supply and Materiel Branch of the Office of the Army Chief Artillery, and Chief of Staff of Army Artillery Regiment.
“To the new Chiefs of Offices, remember that your roles are crucial in fulfilling the organization’s mission and vision. Therefore, I urge you to continue fostering a culture of service excellence and make your own marks while aspiring for a better Philippine Army,” Maj. Gen. Tolentino said in his remarks as he welcomes the incoming chiefs.
He also thanked Col. Balisi, Col. Alemania and Lt. Col. Sumergido for their outstanding service and dedication to duty as a contribution to the Philippine Army’s attainment of its vision to be a world-class army that is a source of national pride. #
