FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila – Troops of the 67th Infantry Battalion, 10th Infantry Division (10ID), neutralized two CPP-NPA-Terrorists (CNTs) during an encounter in Agusan Del Sur yesterday, April 26, 2021.
The operation occurred after a report revealed the CNTs’ location in Barangay Sta. Maria, Trento. Said members were identified as Danny Huit alias “Bosyong” and Naneth Catalino alias “Bambam” / “Keith”. Huit is the Secretary of the Weakened Guerrilla Front North, Southern Mindanao Regional Party Committee in which Catalino is also a member. A 5-minute firefight led to the death of the said CNTs. Troops also seized one cal.45 pistol, subversive documents, and cellphones in the area.
10ID Commander Maj. Gen. Ernesto Torres Jr. lauded the accomplishment of the troops, "I would like to extend my commendation to the steadfast and determined commitment to duty of 67th Infantry Battalion, 701st Brigade and the troops for ensuring peace in our area of responsibility. Team Agila will continue to perform its mandate of protecting the people from lawless elements and terrorist. We will not give them an inch to bring terror in a peace-loving community," he said.#
