1st Mechanized Infantry Battalion facilitates surrender of 12 BIFF members

A total of twelve Bangasamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) members surrendered at the 1st Mechanized Infantry Battalion in Barangay Kamasi, Ampatuan, Maguindanao on December 17, 2021.
The former combatants, who belong to BIFF’s Bungos faction, turned over high-powered firearms including a US Browning Machine Gun, Cal .50 HB; a 5.56mm M16 Ultimax Rifle; three 7.62mm M14 Rifle; a 7.62mm M14 Rifle; a Mauser Sniper Rifle; three Sniper Rifles, and a 7.62mm M14 Rifle.
Datu Salibo Mayor Solaiman Sandigan facilitated the surrender of the former combatants to the 1MechBn led by Col. Pedro Balisi, Jr. They received financial and livelihood assistance from the Datu Salubo municipal government to help in their reintegration to society.
