National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP)

Professor Charithie Joaquin is the Chief of the Research and Special Studies Division of the National Defense College of the Philippines (NDCP), the government’s highest center for education, training and research on national security and defense.  At NDCP, she previously served as Chief of the Academic Affairs Division, Head of the Defense Management Institute (DMI) and Deputy Director of the Institute for National Security Studies (INSS).  She is currently the director for the National Security Administration module of the NDCP’s Master in National Security Administration (MNSA) program.

She earned her Master of Arts degree in War Studies from King’s College London where she received a Merit Award, and her Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of the Philippines – Diliman.  She did short courses at the Asia-Pacific Center for Security Studies (APCSS), Near East South Asia Center for Strategic Studies and the Institute on Global Cooperation and Conflict at the University of California in San Diego.  She is a recipient of the British Chevening Scholarship Award.
