MODULE 3: STRENGTHENING THE ARMY LEADERSHIP: ADAPTING IN THE UNCERTAIN SECURITY LANDSCAPE

The Philippine Army has made significant transformation throughout the years, gearing towards a territorial defense ready military organization. With the future in mind, it is essential to continuously develop Army capabilities for the organization to effectively respond in the fast-changing requirements of the strategic and operational environment. With the advent of hybrid threats as a new form of security challenge, a new approach of Mission Command needs to be considered.

The ability to operate in a more decentralized manner and distributed on the battlefield will allow adaptability in the face of enemies that utilize all possible resources to achieve their goal. The attributes of the future force must also be determined for the organization to stay one step ahead of the enemy. Furthermore, new trends in military leadership should be discussed in order to equip the Army Senior Leaders with right knowledge, mindset, and attitude towards the institutional growth of the organization.
