CGPA musters troops ahead of polls

The Commanding General, Philippine Army (CGPA) Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., led the “Mustering of Troops” to ensure the organization’s readiness to support the Philippine National Police (PNP) in securing the elections on May 8, 2022 at the Philippine Army Grandstand, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila.

Lt. Gen. Brawner explained to troops the Philippine Army’s role to support the PNP which is at the forefront of ensuring the safe, orderly, and peaceful conduct of national and local elections on May 9, 2022.

Officers and personnel from the Headquarters Philippine Army (HPA), Headquarters Support Group, and the HPA Election Contingency Force participated in the event. Philippine Army Major Units (PAMUs) also deployed assets and personnel to bolster the HPA Election Contingency Force which is on standby at Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila.

The CGPA earlier placed the Philippine Army under Red Alert status to ensure that all units are complete and ready to be deployed to address possible threats that may arise during the election period.
