145 troops hurdle Scout Ranger Orientation Course

A new batch of soldiers hurdled the 45-day Scout Ranger Orientation Course (SROC) in a closing ceremony at the First Scout Ranger Regiment headquarters, Camp Pablo Tecson, San Miguel, Bulacan on August 11, 2022.

5th Infantry “Star” Division Commander Maj. Gen. Laurence E. Mina, who served as the event’s guest of honor and speaker, reminded the 145 SROC graduates to always keep in mind the lessons they learned while in training. "Without the foundation instilled in us during our SROC training, I will not be able to stand in front of you today. Live with the strong foundation of your training to become effective soldiers,” Maj. Gen. Mina told members of SROC Class 107-2022.

SROC, which is the preparatory course for the nine-month Scout Ranger Course, is geared at developing soldiers’ knowledge and skills in the Tactics, Techniques and Procedures of Scout Ranger operations.

Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr. —in his command guidance “SERVE” —has prioritized the enhancement of individual competencies of soldiers and unit capabilities through regular training.
