Army Chief vows all-out support for 6ID

Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., vowed all-out support — including the deployment of game-changer defense assets — for the 6th Infantry “Kampilan” Division in a speech before Kampilan troopers at Camp Brig. Gen. Gonzalo Siongco, Barangay Awang, Datu Odin Sinsuat, Maguindanao on August 11, 2022.

“On the part of the Headquarters Philippine Army, you can be assured that we will continue to support you with all the necessary resources that you need,” the Army Chief said in his keynote address during the division’s turnover of leadership. “We will push down the resources to the operating troops. Our human resources, our financial resources, our logistical resources have been pushed down to our operating units,” he added.

Lt. Gen. Brawner likewise assured the deployment of the Army’s game-changer assets to the Kampilan Division whose area of operations covers Central and Southern Mindanao. “You can expect very soon that the mounted mortar carriers and self-propelled howitzers will be seeing action in this area,” Lt. Gen. Brawner said.

“And by the end of the year, if we get our multi-launch rocket systems, we will immediately deploy them in the field, especially in this area of 6ID,” Lt. Gen. Brawner said in his speech.

Acting “Kampilan” Division Commander Maj. Gen. Roberto S. Capulong turned over the leadership of the division to Maj. Gen. Roy M. Galido who served as the Army Inspector General from September 2021 to August 2022. Maj. Gen. Capulong and Maj. Gen. Galido both belong to the Philippine Military Academy “Bigkis Lahi” Class of 1990.
