Army holds safe driving seminar

The Philippine Army, through the Headquarters and Headquarters Support Group, commenced its two-week safe driving seminar aimed at instilling defensive and proactive driving habits to around 300 soldiers at the Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila on August 17, 2022.

The seminar, which is being conducted by batches, is slated from August 17 to August 30, 2022. It is also aimed at providing awareness and responsibility of being safe on the road and promoting visual alertness to participants.

It can be recalled that the Philippine Army conducted last June 2022 a motorcycle-riding safety seminar to more than 1,200 troops. The month-long motorcycle-riding safety seminar helped reduce or eliminate risks of motorcycle accidents through lectures and practical exercises on safe and defensive riding habits.

HHSG Chief of Staff Col. Ivan V. San Jose, in his keynote speech, said that the series of safe driving seminars for soldiers is in line with Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr.’s desire to cultivate a "culture of safety” within the organization.
