Army concludes week-long brigade commanders' forum

The Philippine Army, through the Army Leadership Development and Education Center of the Training and Doctrine Command, wrapped up on August 19, 2022 the week-long online forum geared at enhancing the leadership and strategic acumen of brigade commanders who are at the helm of the Philippine Army’ frontline units.

The Brigade Commanders’ Forum 2022 gathered 64 commanders of brigades, regiments and ready reserve units through video-teleconferencing. The activity, anchored on the theme "Enhancing Army Leadership Acumen to Achieve Victory Against Threats to National Security,” provided a platform for brigade commanders to discuss operational methodologies and relevant tools in defeating the remaining communist and local terrorists groups.

“We have made significant strides in fulfilling our campaign objectives, and these instrumental feats are credited to the situational awareness, operational foresight, and strategic leadership of our Army brigade commanders whose professional expertise, experience, and excellence in service have empowered our servant-soldiers more than ever in fighting to win the peace,” Army Vice Commander Maj. Gen. Camilo Z. Ligayo said in a speech on behalf of Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr.

Maj. Gen. Ligayo lauded the Army’s brigade commanders for dismantling 16 guerilla fronts in the first six months of 2022 as he urged them to focus on dismantling the remaining 25 others. “We shall continue to lead from the front, maintain our operational tempo, sustain our gains, and ultimately, we shall prevail against the surmountable odds,” he concluded.
