Army smashers bagged three medals in the 1st Prime Badminton Open Tournament held at the Silang Badminton Center in Silang, Cavite, the Special Service Center (SSC) of the Installation Management Command announced on September 3, 2022.
Army smashers bagged three medals bannered by the first-runner-up finish of Private Jerickson Obaob in the men’s singles category. Private Obaob and his teammate Private Yohan Art Rivas likewise clinched the 1st runner-up spot in the men’s doubles category.
On the distaff side, the duo of Army smashers Sergeant Jojielyn Siton and Sergeant Laarni Casilao finished first runner-up in the doubles category. The said competition, organized by the PBA Smash Pilipinas, gathered around 800 smashers from all over the country.
SSC Director Colonel John Oliver Gabun lauded the Army smashers for continuing their winning momentum. “Kudos on your victory! Rest assured that your Team Army will continue to support you in your quest for excellence, as espoused by Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr.,” the SSC Chief remarked.
