Army aids Karding victims

Army units stepped up relief efforts in Karding-hit communities in Central and Southern Luzon on September 27, 2022.

91st Infantry Battalion, 7th Infantry Division troops joined the local government’s relief efforts for 147 Dumagat families in the highlands of Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija. Troops also assisted local government workers in distributing health kits, medicines, multivitamins and other essential items to Dumagat families during the Gabaldon relief mission.

Meanwhile, troops from the 2nd Infantry Division helped haul and distribute relief packs from the Department of Social Welfare Development in Real town and Polillo Island in Quezon province, the area where “Karding” made its first landfall on the evening of September 25, 2022.

Army troops and reservists are working ‘round the clock with government and private responders to help ease the suffering of typhoon-stricken communities that bore the brunt of Super Typhoon Karding, the strongest tropical cyclone to hit the country this year.
