Army tennisters score back-to-back wins in weekend tourneys

Army tennis athletes scored back-to-back wins over the weekend after scoring victories in the 10th Kalilangan Table Tennis Championship held from February 25 to February 26, 2023 at Robinsons Place, General Santos City and the Philippine Table Tennis Federation-sanctioned 32nd Southeast Asian Games 2023 Cambodia qualifying tournament in Puerto Princesa, Palawan on February 22 to 26, 2023.
 
Team Army emerged as champion in the 10th Kalilangan Table Tennis Championship organized by the Table Tennis Association of General Santos (TATAG). The varsity team of the University of Mindanao in Davao City and Sultan Kudarat-based Team Isulan emerged as second and third placers in the team category. Meanwhile, Corporal Kenny Castro and his teammate Private First Class Homber Tiongson emerged as champion and first-runner up respectively in the men’s singles event.
 
Meanwhile, Private Sendrina Andrea Balatbat ruled the women’s single category of the Philippine Table Tennis Federation National Selection, Road to the 32nd SEA Games 2023 Cambodia in Puerto Princesa City.
Special Service Center (SSC) Director Col. John Oliver F. Gabun lauded the Army tennisters for their recent wins as he urged them to sustain their winning momentum in upcoming local and international competitions this year.
