Philippine Army and GMA Kapuso Foundation’s simultaneous blood donation drive records huge turnout

The Philippine Army and GMA Kapuso Foundation, Inc. (GMAKF) teamed up for a simultaneous blood donation drive that recorded huge turnouts in Fort Magsaysay, Palayan City, Nueva Ecija and Camp Capinpin, Tanay, Rizal on March 25, 2023.

The joint blood donation drive at the two Army camps yielded a total of 535 blood bags, one of the largest hauls collected in blood donation drives spearheaded by the GMAKF this year. Philippine Army soldiers as well as their U.S. Army counterparts who are participating in the ongoing Exercise Salaknib in Fort Magsaysay donated blood. Policemen, Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) cadets, aspiring soldiers, and civil servants from the Tanay Local Government Unit also participated in the simultaneous activity held at the two venues.

The collected blood bags were turned over to Philippine Red Cross Chapters in Central Luzon and the Red Cross Blood Tower in Mandaluyong City. The life-saving fluid will be used to help patients who might need immediate blood transfusion due to illness, medical emergencies or even accidents.

The joint blood donation drive highlighted the strong partnership of the Philippine Army and GMAKF-two organizations that share the commitment to help and serve Filipinos from across the country.
