Army athletes bag 17 medals in 32nd Southeast Asian Games

Army athletes bagged a total of 17 medals to help propel Team Philippines to a fifth-place finish in the 32nd edition of the Southeast Asian Games in Phnom Penh, Cambodia from May 5 to May 17, 2023.
 
Army soldiers won a total of 3 gold medals, 8 silver medals, and 6 bronze medals during the biennial multi-sports event that saw the action of elite athletes from eleven Southeast Asian countries. The 17-medal haul of Army athletes contributed to the Team Philippines' 260-medal haul which include 58 gold medals, 86 silver medals, and 116 bronze medals.
 
Army soldiers' medal haul is bannered by the victory of Private Crisamuel T. Delfin and Private Dexter S. Bolambao in arnis and Corporal Ronil N. Tubog in Wrestling Men’s Freestyle – 61 kilograms category.
 
Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. lauded the Army athletes for continuously bringing honor not just to the organization but to the country as well. The Army Chief has vowed to provide ample support and world-class training facilities to bolster the sporting prowess of Army athletes.
