New recruits begin their military journey at Army Artillery Regiment

180 new recruits began their military journey during the opening ceremony of Candidate Soldier Course (CSC) Class 765-2023 at the Army Artillery Regiment’s (AAR) headquarters in Fort Magsaysay, Nueva Ecija on May 18, 2023.
 
Headquarters and Headquarters Support Group (HHSG) Commander Brig. Gen. Moises M. Nayve Jr., who served as the opening ceremony’s guest of honor and speaker, told the candidate soldiers that they will be “part of the modernization of the Philippine Army that will play a vital role in securing our country.”
 
“The calling to serve the country is the reason why you, Candidate Soldiers, are standing here right now, “ Brig. Gen. Nayve remarked. He also thanked the parents of the aspiring soldiers for entrusting their sons and daughters to the AAR to transform them into responsible soldiers.
 
The 180-strong candidate soldier applicants successfully passed a series of examinations that tested their physical strength, mental ability and emotional stability before entering the formal training. The opening ceremony signifies that they are now ready to hurdle the four-month rigorous military training. After the program, the new recruits underwent the traditional rites that tested and gauged their physical strength before the formal start of the training.
