Philippine Army sends off new 2nd lieutenants

The Philippine Army sent off 249 2nd Lieutenants to their respective units in a ceremony at the Philippine Army Officers Clubhouse, Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Metro Manila on May 18, 2023.
 
Of the 249 2nd Lieutenants, 227 are part of the Officer Candidate Course (OCC) Class 56-22, 21 from Officer Candidate Course-Reserve Officer Training Corps (OCC-ROTC) Class 02-22, and 1 from OCC Class 55-21. 191 of the newly deployed 2nd Lieutenants are male while 58 are female.
 
Army Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Potenciano C. Camba, who represented Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. during the send off ceremony, commended the 2nd Lieutenants for their perseverance and unbending will in overcoming challenges.
 
“Upon your deployment, keep in mind that being a leader bears many responsibilities. However, your rigorous training and trust in your colleagues will help you push through adversities. I urge you to continue your pursuit of leadership excellence while serving our fellow Filipinos," Maj. Gen. Camba said as he addressed the newly deployed 2nd Lieutenants.
