Armor Division welcomes new acting commander

The Armor "Pambato" Division, Philippine Army welcomes Brig. Gen. Pedro C. Balisi Jr. as its new acting commander in a ceremony at Camp O'Donnell, Sta. Lucia, Capas, Tarlac on April 26, 2024.

 

Prior to his new post, Brig. Gen. Balisi served as the Assistant Division Commander of the Armor Division. He also led various units such as Brigade Commander of 1st Mechanized Infantry Brigade (1MIBde); Chief of the Office of the Army Financial Management; Commander of the Joint Task Force Talakudong under 1MIBde; and Assistant Chief of Staff for Operations of the Mechanized Infantry Division. He is a proud member of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) "Tanglaw-Diwa" Class of 1992.

 

Maj. Gen. Facundo O. Palafox IV, on the other hand, leads the Southern Luzon Command (SOLCOM) as its new commander. Under his leadership in the Armor Division, the unit's effort contributed to the advanced capabilities and training of cavalry, mechanized, and tank units which defeated the Communist Terrorist Groups (CTGs) and other Local Terrorist Groups (LTGs) in the country. Maj. Gen. Palafox also graduated from PMA as a member of the "Bigkis-Lahi" Class of 1990.

 

Lt. Gen. Galido praised the outgoing commander for his exceptional leadership and extended his good hopes to the two generals as they embark on their new assignments. "Para kay Maj. Gen. Palafox, hindi matatawaran ang katapangan at katapatan na inyong ipinakita sa paglilingkod sa ating mga kababayan. Ang pagprotekta ng kapayapaan at kaunlaran sa inyong mga nasasakupan ay dapat na kilalanin! At para kay Brig. Gen. Balisi, buo ang tiwala ko sa iyo na pamunuan ang Armor Division ng naaayon sa ating adhikain at sa pambansang layunin na Bagong Pilipinas!" said Lt. Gen. Galido in his message.
