FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila - The Philippine Army, through the Office of the Army Internal Auditor (OAIA), hosted the Armed Forces of the Philippines Internal Auditors’ 1st Quarter Seminar here on Tuesday, Mar. 3, 2020.
Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Gilbert I. Gapay was represented by the Army Chief of Staff Brig. Gen. Rowen S. Tolentino, who read the CGPA’s message during the seminar’s closing in ceremony.
The one-day event aims to promote and attain good governance as well as organizational and operational excellence among AFP Internal Auditor Services.
A total of 125 delegates from the Office of the Internal Auditor, OAIA, Office of the Air Force Internal Auditor, Office of the Naval Internal Auditor, AFP Wide Service Support Units/Unified Commands, and the Philippine Coastguard Internal Auditor received lectures and participated in the discussion of the seminar’s topic, “Fraud Audits”; that focuses on the elimination of corruption, fraudulent statements, and asset misappropriation.
“We must be vigilant against fraudulent statements and asset misappropriation in order to keep our auditing processes immune from inefficiency and corruption. As we share best practices and updates on common and critical findings, we shall continue to foster closer relationships and consultation among internal auditor services,” read Tolentino.#
