FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila - The group K-Noonas Buy Your Food and AvengersPH, represented by Mrs. Charisse Gatmaitan, distributed relief goods to 100 residents of Barangay 175, Camarin, Caloocan City last March 26, 2020 with the assistance from the 11th Civil-Military Operations Battalion of the Philippine Army.
With the enhanced community quarantine still in effect, the 11CMOB from Civil-Military Operations Regiment of the Army assisted Gatmaitan's group in the distribution of goods to the urban poor families to sustain their food requirements during the quarantine period.
Along with the goods, an information dissemination and awareness campaign was also held through mobile loudspeaker operations around the vicinity reiterating the importance of enhanced community quarantine and proper hygiene in curbing the spread of COVID-19 virus. The group also followed strict contact transmission protocols to prevent the undue spread of the disease.
“We appreciate the kind gesture of Ms Gatmaitan’s group, who share their time and resources to provide the basic needs to our fellowmen” Philippine Army Spokesperson Col. Ramon P. Zagala.
“Rest assured that your Philippine Army will continue to extend its support to other stakeholders in delivering the needed services and critical items in priority communities of the country,” Zagala added.
The local officials, recipients and the sponsor expressed their gratitude to the members of the Philippine Army for the success of the activity. #
