Army welcomes new Acting Chief Nurse

The Philippine Army welcomed its new Acting Chief Nurse in a Change of Chief of Office and Retirement Ceremony presided over by Army Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Potenciano C. Camba at Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City, on April 30, 2024.
 
Col. Jelenne J Quintana will take the helm as the Acting Army Chief Nurse from Col. Maria Victoria P Juan. She also serves as the current Deputy of the Office of the Army Chief Nurse. She held several positions such as the Chairperson of the Nurse Corps Doctrines, Office of the Chief Nurse (OTCN), General Headquarters (GHQ), Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), Chairperson, NC Badge, OTCN, GHQ, AFP, and Training Officer, V Luna General Hospital (VLGH). Col Quitana was commissioned in 1989 and assigned to the AFP Nurse Corps in 1990.
 
Meanwhile, Col. Maria Victoria P Juan., who served as the Army Chief Nurse since 2019, will retire from service after 33 years. She held diverse positions such as the Chief, Public Information Office, AFP Medical Center, Chief Nurse, VLGH, Command Nurse and Chief Nurse of Western Mindanao Command, and Chief Nurse of 4th Infantry Division, Philippine Army.
 
Maj. Gen. Camba expressed his gratitude to Col. Juan for her dedication to the military service. Moreover, he also relayed his guidance to the new Acting Chief Nurse. "The challenge for you is to keep the Army fit and healthy," Maj. Gen. Camba said.
