Army participates in Balikatan's Counter-Landing Live Fire Exercise

The Philippine Army, through the Army Artillery Regiment, utilized its towed and self-propelled howitzers, in the Counter-Landing live fire drill which is among the highlights of this year’s Exercise Balikatan at the Sand Dunes, La Paz, Laoag City, Ilocos Norte on May 6, 2024.
 
The howitzer platoons of Bravo Battery, 5th Field Artillery Battalion (5FAB) and 3rd Self-Propelled Battery, 10th Field Artillery Battalion (10FAB) together with the firing units of the Philippine Marine Corps (PMC) and US Army Pacific (USARPAC) simulated the conduct of combined and joint counter-landing operations to repel hostile forces from establishing themselves in the country’s territory.
 
The counter-landing exercise is a vital component of Balikatan designed to increase interoperability of the Philippine and U.S. militaries in support of Philippine territorial defense.
