Army receives ambulances, gears up against COVD-19 during anniversary

    FORT BONIFACIO, Metro Manila - The Philippine Army (PA) has received ambulances to gear up its efforts against COVD-19 during its 123rd Founding Anniversary Celebration here today, March 23, 2020.

    The two new units of ambulances will be utilized by the Army General Hospital to enhance its medical capabilities in support to the Enhanced Community Quarantine which was implemented last week.

    Said equipment were officially received from the Lucio Tan Group of Companies (LT Group, Inc.) and Jaime V. Ongpin Foundation Inc. (JVOFI) through a Memorandum of Agreement and Deeds of Donation Signing activity between Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Gilbert I. Gapay and JVOFI President, Reinaldo A. Bautista Jr. last March 3.

    "This is a gesture of our full support to our men and women in uniform by helping capacitate its technical service units and personnel with the necessary equipment so they can ably provide better service to our fellowmen," Michael G. Tan, President of LT Group Inc.

    “We are truly grateful for the equipment given by our stakeholders, the LT Group, Inc. and the JVOFI. The donations will surely strengthen our capabilities in supporting our government’s efforts to fight the COVID-19 in the country,” said Gapay. “Also, as we celebrate today our 123rd Founding Anniversary with the theme, ‘123 years of Gallantry and Dedication in Serving the People and Securing the land’, I urge everyone to continue embodying this commitment in the midst of this emergency. Even if we are currently facing an invisible enemy, the Philippine Army assures you, we are dedicated to serve and secure every Filipino family,” he added.
