Philippine Army joins 2023 Veterans’ Week wreath-laying ceremony

The Philippine Army joined the commemoration of the 2023 Veterans’ Week through a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier (TUKS), Libingan ng mga Bayani on April 5, 2023.
Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner, Jr., joined the Guest of Honor and Speaker (GOHAS) Defense Senior Undersecretary Carlito G. Galvez, Jr. in the wreath-laying rites to open the week-long commemoration of Veteran's Week anchored on the theme “Kagitingan ng mga Beterano, Pundasyon ng Nagkakaisang Pilipino”.
The wreath-laying ceremony is an institutional way of venerating the memory of Filipino patriots and martyrs who died for the country. Senior Undersecretary Galvez, along with the World War II and Post-War Veteran leaders and youth sectors, offered their respective wreaths at the TUKS to honor the fallen heroes and veterans on their resolute devotion in serving the country,
"Napakahalaga ng sama-sama nating pagbabalik tanaw sa mga naiambag ng ating mga beterano sa natatanging kasaysayan sa kasalukuyan at kinabukasan. Ang kabayanihan ng ating mga beterano ay nagiging inspirasyon ng ating mga kawal sa Sandatahang Lakas ng Pilipinas para magpatuloy. Mabuhay ang mga beterano, mabuhay ang sambayanang Pilipino, at mabuhay ang Pilipinas," Senior Undersecretary Galvez remarked.
