Philippine Army, U.S. Marine Corps conduct Balikatan CBRN training

Philippine Army soldiers and U.S. Marines Corps trained together in Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) training program which is part of Exercise Balikatan at the 3rd Infantry Division’s (3ID) headquarters in Camp General Macario Peralta Jr., Jamindan, Capiz on April 11, 2023.

The CBRN Company of the Army Support Command and a platoon from 3ID and the U.S. Marines Corps held discussions on Mission-Oriented Protective Posture (MOPP) and MOPP Gear Exchange. Moreover, they also held practical exercises applying what they learn in the discussion of the MOPP levels.

Exercise Balikatan’s CBRN training program is designed to enhance the capabilities of the Philippine military and its allied forces in responding to chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear threats. The training program will include classroom lectures, hands-on exercises, and simulations.

More than 17,600 Filipino and American soldiers are participating in the 38th Exercise Balikatan, the largest iteration of the said exercise to date.
