Army commemorates 125th Independence Day with nationwide simultaneous flag rites

The Philippine Army commemorates the 125th Philippine Independence Day through a nationwide simultaneous flag ceremony highlighted by the raising of the Philippine Flag at the Army’s main headquarters in Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City on June 12, 2023.
 
Philippine Army Major Units and their subordinate units took part in the observance by holding flag ceremonies in their respective Army camps and installations nationwide. In Fort Bonifacio, Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr., who was represented by Vice Commander Philippine Army Maj. Gen. Steve D. Crespillo called on troops to honor the sacrifices of Filipino heroes. “On this 125th year of Philippine Independence, let us pay homage to our heroes for their bravery, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment. But let us not stop at the remembrance. Let us carry their legacy within us, living each day to make their sacrifices more meaningful,” the Army Chief's remarks read by Maj. Gen. Crespillo.
 
This year's Independence Day celebration is anchored on the theme “Kalayaan, Kinabukasan, Kasaysayan” (Freedom, Future, History)". The Filipino nation marks this year’s Independence Day as the current administration encourages the present generation to uphold hard-earned freedom by striving for excellence and integrity in all aspects of life.
