Army kicks off Arnis Trainer's Training

The Philippine Army, through the Special Service Center (SSC) of the Headquarters and Headquarters Support Group, kicked off the Arnis Trainer's Training with Army Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Potenciano C. Camba as keynote speaker at Headquarters Philippine Army Grandstand, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City on July 24, 2023.
 
In line with the intent of the AFP Chief of Staff and Army Commanding General Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr., the Arnis training aims to improve every soldier's physical health, establish self-defense confidence and uphold original Filipino martial arts. The SSC will invite Subject Matter Experts and guest instructors to facilitate the training. After completing the lessons, participants will join the core group of Arnis trainers in the PA, thereby institutionalizing Arnis as a fundamental combative skill in the organization.
 
Army Chief of Staff Maj. Gen. Potenciano c. Camba, during his keynote message, highlighted its importance. "The Army promotes discipline, emotional stability, and mental toughness among soldiers through this combative," Maj. Gen. Camba said.
