257 second lieutenants to embark on a journey as new Army officers

The Commanding General, Philippine Army Lt. Gen. Roy M. Galido led the send-off ceremony of 257 new second lieutenants on January 31, 2024, at the Headquarters Philippine Army, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City.
 
The newly-commissioned lieutenants came from the Officer Candidate Course (OCC) “GAIGMAT” Class 58-2023 and Philippine Military Academy (PMA) “Madasigon” Class of 2023 who will be deployed to various units of the Army and will lead on the frontlines during combat operations against the CPP-NPA Terrorists, Local Terrorist Groups, and other security threats.
 
The Army chief underscored the significant roles of the new lieutenants in their places of assignment. “Be the best platoon leaders. Set as the example of discipline and performance. These will be the foundation of strong teamwork between officers and soldiers that is crucial to the success of a mission. Let us make the Army better,” said Lt. Gen. Galido in his speech.
