Army makes frontline troops’ health a priority

The Philippine Army conducted a Health and Wellness Fair for all frontline soldiers and civilian personnel on March 8, 2024, at the HPA Grandstand, Fort Bonifacio, Taguig City. The fair prioritized their health through free heart screening, medical tests, dental, and mental health services.

One of the major activities of Exercise Katihan was for all the troops, especially its frontliners, to undergo free health tests, including eye, blood sugar, blood pressure, and heart rate check-ups. Various stakeholders also installed booths and offered samples of their affordable health products and services.

The exposition features free HIV testing in a mobile caravan, dental check-ups in a mobile dental care bus, veterinary services for all pets, and digital healthcare. Moreover, the Army Chief Chaplain offered a private counseling session to all visiting Army troops and gave free Holy Bible and Quran books for their daily guide.

The Army chief underscored the importance of good health of its troops so they can perform their responsibilities to the best they can. “Pinahahalagahan natin ang kalusugan - kalusugan ng ating katawan, ngipin, at isipan. Kapag maayos ang kalusugan ng kasundaluhan, mas lumalakas ang ating hukbo. Kapag maayos ang kalusugan, maiiwasan din ng ating pamilya ang problemang dala ng sakit,” the Army Chief said.
