CAMP Siongco, Maguindanao – The Buddies from 62nd Division Reconnaissance Company (DRC) received a prize from Cotabato City Mayor Frances Cynthia Guiani-Sayadi for winning the first place in the 4th Leg, day 4, the finale day of “The Amazing Race Kampilan Buddy Challenge 2020”. The closing and awarding ceremony was held in front of People’s Palace, Cotabato City on October 22, 2020.
To lift the morale of the other 17 competing buddies, Mayor Guiani-Sayadi sponsored 17 consolation prizes for them.
Cotabato City has been very supportive to the command, with the manifestation of the Mayors’ commitment to support the troops as partners in maintaining the peace and security of the city.
“Nasa mandato po namin na suportahan ang ating mga kasundaluhan, itong ginawa ngayon ng 6th Infantry Division sa kanilang ika-33rd Anniversary ay napakabuluhan. Because it’s showcase the stamina, skills, the talents and the strength of each of the battalion and Camaraderie to be closer to one another” Mayor Sayadi said during her speech.
“As we fight the COVID 19 and other threats such as terrorism, tulad ng iba pang problema sa ating bayan, lalong lalo sa mga lugar na hotspot area and we consider threats sa ating mga kasundaluhan, kayo ang aming katuwang sa pagpapanatili ng kaayusan. We at the local government unit of Cotabato city will always be there to help our Army troops dahil iisa lang ang ating adhikain, we heal as one, we work as one, we fight as one” Mayor Guiani-Sayadi added.
“Watching how the participants strive to win in every leg of the competition makes me proud as your Commander. I saw how good you have done and every team or ‘Buddies’ performed with excellence.” Major General Juvymax R. Uy, Commander of 6th ID and Joint Task Force Central said in his message
“Cotabato City has been the host city of 6th Infantry Kampilan Division for the past 33 years. We are very grateful for the support of the Honorable Mayor Atty. Cynthia Guiani-Sayadi, the Iron Lady of Cotabato, we will be your “Buddies” in the quest for peace and security. Walang iwanan” Major General Uy added.
