191 aspiring soldiers begin military training at Spearhead Division

A new batch of aspiring soldiers began their six-month military training during the opening ceremony for Candidate Soldier Course Class 768 and 769-2023 at the headquarters of the 3rd Infantry “Spearhead” Division (3ID) at Camp Gen Macario Peralta Jr. in Jamindan, Capiz on May 24, 2023.

Among the 191 candidates, 177 are males, while 14 are females, reflecting the growing interest of women in serving in the noble profession of arms and pursuing a military career. They will undergo 16 weeks of Basic Military Training and seven weeks of specialization courses at the 3rd Division Training School.

3ID Assistant Division Commander Brig. Gen. Leonardo I. Peña, in his keynote remarks, challenged the aspiring soldiers to support and encourage each other so that their batch will have a 100 percent completion rate of their pre-entry training.

“I encourage each and every one of you, do not quit no matter how difficult your path ahead may be,” Brig. Gen. Peña also told the aspiring soldiers.
