The 3rd Infantry “Spearhead” Division marked its 49th Founding Anniversary anchored on the theme “Strong, United and Reliable: Spearhead Troopers @ 49” at the division’s headquarters in Camp Gen. Macario Peralta Jr. in Jamindan, Capiz on May 31, 2023.
Army Commanding General Lt. Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr., in his keynote remarks during the anniversary celebration, lauded Spearhead troopers for launching focused military and intelligence operations that effectively weakened the capabilities and influence of the Communist Terrorist Group (CTG) remnants in Western Visayas and parts of Central Visayas.
The Army Chief noted that the Division has launched a total of 247 combat operations that resulted in 77 government-initiated encounters, 149 surrenders, 46 body counts, and 13 captured CTG personalities from May 2022 to May 2023. 3ID operating troops likewise captured 60 high-powered firearms and 144 low-powered firearms during the said period, he added.
“These significant accomplishments of the Team Spearhead against the enemies of the State bespeak of your untiring efforts to support stability in your area of responsibility. Hence, I commend you for upholding excellence in the performance of your tasks,” Lt. Gen. Brawner told Spearhead troopers in his remarks.
