FSRR holds joint opening ceremony for candidate soldiers and leadership training for future platoon leaders

The First Scout Ranger Regiment (FSRR) held a joint opening ceremony of the Leadership Development Course 21-2023 and Candidate Soldier Course (CSC) Class 767-2023 at Camp Pablo Tecson, San Miguel, Bulacan on June 1, 2023.

The 30-day Leadership Development Course is geared at developing the confidence and effectiveness of Army cadets from the Philippine Military Academy who serve as future platoon leaders. The course also teaches students the essential knowledge and skills on Scout Ranger tactics, emphasizing the core values of courage, confidence and combat discipline. Meanwhile, CSC Class 767-2023 is composed of 130 males and 5 females who hail from different walks of life. They will undergo the 16-week comprehensive pre-entry training that will mold them into capable infantrymen of the Philippine Army.

“The challenge of stepping up as field leaders will begin here in this hallowed ground,” Philippine Army’s Assistant Chief of Staff for Education and Training, G8, Col. Arsenio DC Sadural, who served as the joint opening ceremony’s guest of honor and speaker, told the future platoon leaders. “Your regimented life as our future nation’s defenders will start today,” Col. Sadural meanwhile told the candidate soldiers.

Col. Sadural also commended the future platoon leaders and soldiers for taking the “path taken by a chosen few” and for swearing an oath to defend the country and the Filipino people.
