Camp Secretary Ruperto K Kangleon, Palo, Leyte – The 8th Forward Service Support Unit (8FSSU), 1st Logistics Support (Ayuda) Brigade (P), Army Support Command, Philippine Army under the leadership of LTC VINCENT ARNOLD O DY QMS (GSC) PA turned-over fourteen (14) M16A1 Rifle 5.56mm from its inventory of Captured, Confiscated, Surrendered, and Recovered (CCSR) Firearms to the Police Regional Office-8, PNP in a simple ceremony held at Headquarters 8FSSU Multi-Purpose Hall on 28 February 2019.
In compliance to Higher Headquarters Policy on CCSR FA’s, the leadership of 8FSSU, in coordination with Crizaldy D. Cabilao, Chief 8th Field Property Accountable Officer (8FPAO), Nelia O. Llego, Unit Property Officer and Glenda P. Araneta, Responsible Supply Accountable Officer (RSAO) PRO8, PNP, implemented the immediate transfer of fourteen (14) CCSR FA’s that were found out to be the property of the PNP after the conduct of macro-etching and careful review of records. The activity was likewise in accordance to the AFP and PNP Memorandum of Agreement entered into by both parties on 30 October 2016 whereby it was agreed that CCSR firearms identified as PNP property be turned-over after submission of proper documentation.
The activity was witnessed by personnel of 8FSSU and PRO-8 where LTC DY formally handed over the firearms to P/LTC ARNEL J, APUD, Officer-in-Charge of the Office of the Regional Director for Research and Development Division. In his message, LTC DY stressed out that the turnover of FA’s is a testament of the partnership between the Philippine Army and the PNP in it quest for genuine peace in the Region.
